Miles Gibson’s birth certificate registers a male child but his identity crisis occurred early in life when his mother – an ex-Bluebell dancer –was abandoned by her husband. Embittered by the experience, she refused to acknowledge the gender of her son and dressed him as a girl. Ridiculed and bullied at school for wearing ribbons in his hair he would later write of his experiences in the ‘Crossing Over’ self-help series of books on sexual redirectionalism and gender alignment. An early campaigner for third sex washrooms in hotels and restaurants, Gibson is known throughout the cross-over community as Jocelyn Meadows and enjoys a happy home life with her long-time partner Harry Scragg. They enjoy gardening and sunshine cruises.
